Course Revision Proposal HIST543 Nationalism and Modernization in the Middle East and North Africa Approved Unanimously GEOG/GEOL: Historic Preservation *Also under review by CAC-Sciences The GEOL/GEOG guest provided an overview of the reason for the package of changes and new courses: some are outdated, modifications were needed to meet NCPE changes, the program is developing digital curricula and facilities, material conservation curricula is no longer emphasized, GHPR prefixes are needed to track SCH production, and catalog prerequisite information needs correction. College of Education Teacher Education Proposal to Revise Programs Reading Minor Language Arts Minor Not Passed because there was no COE faculty vote on the proposal, raising questions about faculty input, and because the proposal is not clear concerning what is meant by “substitute” in the proposed revision for the Reading Minor (students in the Reading minor can substitute those courses or only those who are also minoring in the Language Arts Minor?) (Motion to Not Pass: 6 for, 0 against, 1 abstention). One suggestion to make this clear to students was to create a separate list of Reading Minor courses for students also minoring in Language Arts.
