Old Business • General Biochemistry major and Professional Biochemistry Major – Motion to take from the table for further consideration (COSC, CHEM) – passes 5-­‐0-­‐0 o Angell reported that Laporte sent a letter of support for the program revisions. o Motion to approve program revisions (COSC, CHEM) – passes 4-­‐0-­‐1 • Information Assurance and Cyber Defense major and IA 471 – Motion to take from the table for further consideration – (CHEM, G&G) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 o Haynes reported that COSC has conferred with COT and there are no impediments to approving the revisions to the major or IA 471. o Motion to approve revisions to major and IA 471 (COSC, CHEM) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 II. New Business • COSC 146 – Motion to approve (PHY, PSY) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 o Comment: Item #5 on the form has to be checked. • COSC 274 – Motion to approve (PSY, MATH) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 • SPAI 220 – Motion to approve (COSC, G&G) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 • SPAI 240 – Motion to approve (COSC, CHEM) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 • SPAI 335 & SPAI 345 – Motion to approve (CHEM, PSY) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 o Comment: The courses should not be listed as concurrent pre-­‐ requisites; they should be listed as co-­‐requisites. • SPAI 396 – Motion to approve (COSC, G&G) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 o Comment: McIntyre suggests changing the name of the course to Socialization in Family and Community. The rationale is that there are • already two undergraduate courses with “Social Psychology” in their titles, one in psychology and one in sociology, and the students are confused about which to take for their specific program. SPAI 430 – Motion to approve (PSY, G&G) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 SPAI 440 – Motion to approve (G&G, CHEM) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 • COE – ASD Endorsement – Motion to approve (PHY, MATH) – passes 6-­‐0-­‐0 • Resolution request from CCRSL – Motion to support with the following comments to be included in the letter of support – passes 5-­‐0-­‐1 o Comment: This just asks for more money and does not fix the problem. o Comment: The understanding is that the resolution only addresses a solution for this year; it is not an acceptable long-­‐term solution. o Comment: Taking the top 25% of SRA applications as ranked by the college-­‐level committees guarantees that applications from small colleges are automatically funded. o Comment: We want a much better fix. o Comment: The URSLC should meet as a committee to discuss the rankings before they are finalized. • Adjourned at 4:46 pm.
