 Preorders provides a totally electronic means for orders to be entered and stored prior to the patient’s admission or prior to a hospital or procedure (dialysis/chemo)
 Provider entering the order selects a date or date range that these orders can be used

A copy is stored in StarPanel


“p” displays to the left of the patient name on the Wiz stat screen, in the orders column on the MR dashboard and inpatient whiteboard.
 Dashboards were created as a communication tool for the health care team re: preorders
 Playback preorders at appropriate time i.e. upon admission or beginning of procedure –
 Some PreOrders require an approval signature and will not show up for play back until they are approved
Two Ways to Playback PreOrders
1 . From the HEO/Wiz Census Screen:
1.Double click patient name
2.Click Manage PreOrder list of preorders with today as playback date will be displayed
3. Select the correct preorder set is selected- i.e. only select
“signed” orders
4. Click Playback
6. Click Next
The preorders report will be displayed. IF HEO/Wiz is down, this document can be printed and use for downtime orders
7. Scroll to bottom of the View/Playback orders screen
Click Playback Orders
5. PreOrders load, scroll to bottom and select Next .
The orders will load & flash across the screen
8.Click Yes to “Are You Sure?”
Wiz/ HEO will close once orders are played back and a Physician Order
Sheet and requisitions will print .
