College of Education Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology Department of Special Education Overview This 29-credit, one year post-baccalaureate certificate in SpeechLanguage Pathology is designed for individuals who are preparing to seek admission into a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology, but who have not completed an undergraduate degree in this field. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a minimum 2.75 (out of 4.0) GPA. This program is designed to bridge the gap between a student’s undergraduate preparation and the criteria needed to be accepted in Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) accredited graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology by providing them with the foundational undergraduate coursework. The program can be completed in two, full-time, consecutive terms, Fall and Winter. Students need to be available during the day. No courses are offered during the Summer. Admission into the EMU Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in SpeechLanguage Pathology program does not result in direct admission into the EMU Graduate Speech-Language Pathology program. Upon completion of the certificate, students are welcome to apply to the EMU Graduate Program or the program of their choice. Students seeking admission into the EMU Graduate Speech-Language Pathology Program must apply following completion of the certificate and must meet admission criteria for the graduate program.
