Abstract:
The quest for a realistic thesis problem led the author to choose the interior design of a medical practice
complex which is presently under construction. The building was designed by Mr. Dale Hall, A.I.A., of
Cushing-Terrell Associates in Billings, for the Bozeman Medical Arts Center Corporation.
The author familiarized himself with the architectural features and materials used in order to correlate
interior with exterior appearance. A working file of available sources for furnishings, fabrics and
information was then collected from manufacturers representatives.
Individual consultations were held with each doctor, at which time selections were made from the
above mentioned file and from architects' samples. The choices were made to express the individual
tastes and satisfy professional needs of those who will use each unit. At a later date, further
consultations were held and tentative presentations made incorporating all interior features of each
room within the unit. This was accompanied by estimated costs and, after approval by the doctor, a
