 $2M Creative Scientific Inquiry Experience (CSIE) grant:
• 5-year federal DOE grant, Title III Program.
• Interdisciplinary course approach; bringing women and
minorities into STEM disciplines.
• Institutionalizing previous NSF-funded project.
 $1.8M+ total awarded to two DOE Student Support Services
(SSS) grants:
• Combined $366,640 per year for 5 years; renewable.
• Supporting 140 entering, first-generation students; 80
entering student veterans.
• Assistance with advising, academic support, financial aid,
veterans’ benefits.
• Third component of federal TRIO program at EMU.
