3.0 Standard
Web Site Share (for www.emich.edu)
1.
The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) provides file share services for the main campus web
site.
2.
Web Site Shares are accessible to all authorized users, via the main campus web servers.
3.
Space may be provided to University departments and divisions for use on the main campus web site,
via approval of the Division of Communications and DoIT. The amount of space available will be
assigned based upon resource availability, usage and need.
4.
The folders on the Web Site Share may not be used to store files or data not related to the main campus
web site.
5.
To maximize the space available for current business needs, departments should actively manage their
Web Site share space allocation and remove files that are no longer useful or needed.
6.
Once a department exceeds the space allocated to them, that department may work with DoIT to
determine needs and costs for additional space beyond the centrally funded allocation.
4.0 Responsibility for Implementation
The DoIT Director of Network and Systems Services shall have the responsibility and authority to cause this policy
to be implemented and maintained.
