Banner Access Control – Employment Position Change
1.0 Purpose
This procedure is intended to ensure timely, appropriate action is taken in the event that an employee changes
positions here at the University. It outlines the checks in place and the steps required to change system access for an
employee.

3.0 Procedure
A report is run against Banner weekly to report on appropriate job change reason codes. This report is emailed
automatically to the Banner Functional Security Team. The Functional Security Team Representatives review this
report for access in their area of Banner that should be terminated or added. The Functional Security Representative
sends an email to it-banner-security@list2.emich.edu requesting the specific changes to be made to each individual’s
access or specifying that no changes are needed as a result of their review.
4.0 Responsibility for Implementation
Director Enterprise Operations and the Banner Functional Security Team are responsible for the implementation
of this process.
