Quick Reference Guide IT/ATCS Learning Series 7900 Series VoIP Phone Basic Features Note: The display screen will change to sleep mode when not in use. To activate the screen, lift the receiver, or press the Display button to the right of the softkeys. Transfer a Call 1. During a call, press the Transfer softkey. Note: Press the Resume softkey to return to the original call. 2. Dial the target number Place an Internal Call • Lift the handset and dial the 5 digit number. 3. Press Transfer again to complete the transfer. Note: Press the EndCall softkey to cancel the transfer. • Press the Speaker button and dial the 5 digit number. • Press the New Call softkey and dial the 5 digit number • To place a missed, received or placed call, press the Directory button, scroll to Missed Calls, Received Calls, or Placed Calls, scroll to a listing, press the Dial softkey and lift the handset. • To dial the last number called, press the Redial softkey to activate the speakerphone, or lift the handset and press the Redial softkey. Forward Calls 1. Press the CFwdALL softkey. 2. Enter a target number. Note: Press the CFwdALL softkey to cancel call forwarding. Mute a Call • Press the Mute button. Place a Local Call Dial 6 and the local number. Place a Long Distance Call 1. Dial 8, 1, (Area code) and the number. • To turn off mute, press the Mute button again. Switch Handset and Speaker • Handset to speaker - press the Speaker button and hang up the handset. • Speaker to handset - lift the handset. 2. Enter your long distance code. 3. Press the # key to expedite the call. Answer a Call • Lift the handset, or press the Speaker button. • While on a call, press the Answer softkey to answer a second call (the first call is placed on hold). After you hang up the second call, press the Resume softkey to access the first call again. Volume Control 1. Press the up or down Volume button to increase or decrease the volume of the device you are currently using (handset, headset or speaker). 2. Press the Save softkey to save the setting. Ring Sound 1. Press the Settings button. End a Call • Hang up the handset. • If using the speaker, press the Speaker button. • Press the End Call softkey. Place a Call on Hold • During an active call, press the Hold softkey. • To resume the call, press the Resume softkey. Version 1 - June 2011 2. Scroll to highlight User Preferences and press the Select softkey. 3. Scroll to highlight Rings and press the Select softkey. 4. Scroll to highlight ring option 1 or 2 and press the Select softkey. 5. Scroll to highlight a ring and press the Play softkey to hear the ring. 6. Scroll to the ring you want to use and press the Select softkey. 7. Press the Save softkey. 8. Press the Exit softkey to exit. Divert a call to Voice Messages • Press the iDivert softkey on an incoming call to divert it to voice messages. Do Not Disturb Voice Messages Additional voice message options that you can manage online are available in the Voice Message Option Guide at www.emich.edu/training/voicemessage/content/index.php Following are steps to access voice messages (on, or off campus) at 7-xxxxx, or 2-xxxx numbers. • Press the DND softkey to turn of the ring tone and to divert all calls to voice messages. Display Screen Brightness Access Messages on Your Phone Access messages for 7-xxxx, or 2-xxxx numbers from your phone: 1. Press the Settings button. 1. Press the Messages button. 2. Scroll to highlight User Preferences and press the Select softkey. 2. Enter your PIN. 3. Scroll to highlight Brightness and press the Select softkey. 3. Press ‘1’ to access new messages, or ‘3’ and then ‘1’ for saved messages. 4. Press the Up or Down softkey as desired. 5. Press the Save softkey. Access Messages from Another Phone 6. Press the Exit softkey to exit. Background Images Access messages for 7-xxxx, or 2-xxxx numbers from a different Cisco phone: 1. On-campus dial your 5 digit number (7-xxxx, or 2-xxxx). 1. Press the Settings button. 2. Press the (*) key when voice mail answers. 2. Scroll to highlight User Preferences and press the Select softkey. 3. Enter your ID number (5 digit number) and the (#) key. 3. Scroll to highlight Background Images and press the Select softkey. 5. Press ‘1’ to access new messages, or ‘3’ and then ‘1’ for saved messages. 4. Enter your PIN and the (#) key. 4. Press the Up or Down navigation button. 5. Press the Save softkey. 6. Press the Exit softkey to exit. Access Help Access messages for 7-xxxx, or 2-xxxx numbers from an off-campus phone: 1. Off-campus dial the following: 7-xxxx numbers - your 10 digit number (734-487-xxxx) 2-xxxx numbers - 734-487-3500 1. Press the help button (?) and wait for the menu. 2. Press the (*) key when a voice answers. 2. Scroll to a category and press the Select button. 3. Enter your ID number (5 digit number) and the # key. 3. Scroll to a topic and press the Select button. 4. Enter your PIN and the (#) key. Note: If you need to move your phone to a new location please contact the Help Desk at (734) 487-2120. 5. Press ‘1’ to access new messages, or ‘3’ and then ‘1’ for saved messages.
