APPROVED MAJORS AND MINORS FOR
SECONDARY CERTIFICATION
Secondary certification is for a person who wishes to teach grades 6-12 in his/her major and minor.
A few majors include an endorsement to teach grades K-12; those are marked accordingly. Michigan
Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) subject area tests in the major and minor will be required for
certification.
Students pursuing secondary certification will choose one major and one minor. Subjects marked with
an asterisk do not require a minor. Additional majors or minors may be chosen. To find specific
requirements for each major and minor, go to catalog.emich.edu.
