AB Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, Volunteer Position- SP/SU 2016-Winter 2017

VISION Volunteer Center aims to provide students with the opportunity to engage with
communities through holistic service opportunities, mutually beneficial community partnerships,
and immersion programs that coincide with and enhance students' academic and personal goals.

Alternative Breaks Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, Volunteer PositionExpectations/Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator of the VISION Volunteer Center and the
VISION Graduate Assistant and in tandem with the Alternative Breaks team the expectations
and responsibilities for the AB Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, Volunteer Position
include but are not limited to:
● Attend scheduled meetings throughout the summer of 2016 and throughout the Fall and
Winter semesters as a part of the Alternative Breaks team
● Create and implement marketing strategies for AB programs
● Create and implement fundraising strategies for AB programs
● Support AB teams with fundraising efforts
● Hold 5 office hours per week
● Attend with Site Leader retreat in the Fall
● Assist with Reorientation in the Winter
● Attend regular meetings with AB team
● Represent VISION in various settings (Eaglepalooza, etc.)
● Other tasks as needed

Alternative Breaks Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, Volunteer Position Qualifications
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Community service, community engagement, and volunteer experience (specifically AB
experience) strongly preferred
● Passion for social justice
● Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each term
● Cumulative EMU GPA of 2.5 or greater (must be maintained throughout the duration of
employment)
Hours and Compensation
Approximately 5 hours per week. This is a volunteer position.
