They will be part of SAPs University Alliance. Everyone who teaches the class has access Poets and Quants – Corrie was interviewed. She will let us know if her interview gets published. SAP: Dr. Michael Nuerenburg – SAP Alliance – Paul has checked to see if anything new – waiting to hear back Alex McNeal – US University Alliance head – also waiting to hear back Is there a better way for the University to focus – technical training vs. strategic perspective Looking at local universities – see what they are doing – are they more focused vs. enterprise? Mary Texer will pursue Curriculum: Looking at other U.S. curriculums Using Top 10 from US News & World Report Carlson is in Top 3 MIS programs according to US News & World Report CSC – looking at opportunities to merge classes and opportunities between MIS and CSC CCE – students also take Project Management and other classes from CCE (College of Continuing Education) Update: Send Diversity & Inclusion company contact names to Jessica Sun Kate – follow up with Business Analytics on their projects. Our Diversity group’s project wouldn’t fit because they are looking for companies to pay. However, it may be a project students are interested in doing for experience – Kate is waiting for response Mike – also trying to engage with Fright Week (for undecided majors). Mike connected to get more women on the panel. They didn’t need our help. Mike talked with the Cargill recruiting team at Cargill about getting more women in MIS. Potential – set up table with various companies to talk about careers for women in MIS Update: Start of school year – all classes are full with waiting lists Programming classes are full too. 160 programming students. 300 majors; 50 non-majors Alok is requesting four additional faculty Limiter to adding classes – both labor and rooms are barriers Waitlists = 20 per class United Health is looking for 250 new IS people in Midwest 3M also looking for big numbers MIS – stable numbers over the years; taking students from Supply Chain Lots of dual majors (Finance / Accounting) Board could talk to Dean about future needs and company’s pipeline growth and replacements using metrics.
