FACULTY
The College is organized into a single faculty headed by a Chair and Vice Chair: The faculty of the College is responsible for maintaining
undergraduate and graduate curricula. The faculty operates under a set of bylaws.
Two undergraduate curricula — Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM) and Paper Science and Engineering (PSE) — lead to
the degree of Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources.
Graduate programs lead to the Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) learned degrees and provide concentrations in diverse
disciplinary and research areas including environmental horticulture and urban forestry, forest ecology, forest soils, forest systems and bioenergy,
paper science and engineering, restoration ecology, social sciences, sustainable resource management, and wildlife science. Professional fifth-year
Dean’s Office
master’s programs currently available are: Master of Environmental Horticulture (MEH) and a Master of Forest Resources (MFR).

CENTERS AND PROGRAMS
Centers and cooperative programs offer unique opportunities for multi- and interdisciplinary inquiry.
Other special programs, like the Stand Management Cooperative, are organized as research
The College administers five interdisciplinary centers, two of them jointly with other UW academic
cooperatives, with members from private industry and government agencies paying an annual
units. Centers at the UW generally focus on research and outreach. Although centers do not
fee. Still others are loosely organized as consortia or networks, drawing on the expertise and
administer academic programs, they are an important resource for graduate and undergraduate
interests of faculty, students, and staff from the College and throughout the UW.
