Kennewick Community Education Policies Participation Agreement By registering for a Community Education class, participants understand that participation is at their own risk. Participants, their children, heirs, executors and administrators agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Kennewick School District, its employees, agents, contributing organizations, officers, representatives, and facilities from all claims resulting from any theft, physical injury, death or pecuniary loss as a direct or indirect consequence of participation in this activity/class. If the participant is under 18 years old, their parent or guardian agrees to these terms on their behalf. Registration Policies First Come, First Served Registrations are posted in the order received until the class is filled. Online registration closes the day of the class. Register early! Many classes fill quickly. All registrations must be made in advance. Instructors are not able to register participants at the class. Age Requirements Unless otherwise noted, Community Education classes are geared toward an adult audience; however, in some classes younger students are permitted. If you would like to register a student younger than age 16, please call the Community Education office prior to enrolling. Wait Lists All classes are limited. If the class you wish to register for is filled, you can choose to be placed on an automatic waitlist in the order received. Our office will contact you if space becomes available. Please note: you are not officially enrolled if you are on a waiting list. Cancellation Policy Refunds for classes over $25 (less processing fees) may be issued if you call and cancel at least two business days before the class starts. No refunds will be given for less than a two day notice. There are no refunds for classes under $25. You may choose to send a friend or relative in your place, or you may be able to transfer to another class of same price if space is available. A full refund will be issued for classes that are cancelled by Community Education. Refunds are issued by check and will be processed within two to four weeks. Permission to Photograph and Video Kennewick Community Education/Kennewick School District and its' employees and agents may photograph or take video at Community Education classes to use for community outreach and publicity. This may include posts on social media such as Facebook. If you do not want your image or likeness photographed or recorded at a class, please contact Community Education at (509) 222-5080 prior to the class you are scheduled to attend. Additional Policies Smoking Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere on school property, including the grounds and parking lots. Food and Drink Food or drink is not allowed in the computer labs, in most carpeted areas of schools or gyms. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere on school property, including the grounds and parking lots. Weather Closure Community Education classes will be cancelled if the Kennewick School District has closed due to adverse weather. The evening classes will be cancelled even if the weather clears by the scheduled class time. Find closure information on the District website, Community Education Facebook page and local media. Community Education staff will contact the class participants to reschedule the class.
