Face-to-Face Learning • IGGY will facilitate face-to-face learning and development opportunities through international partners (including universities and employers). • The first face-to-face programme was the IGGY Summer U • Winter U is now live in Singapore! go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy Latest Developments • Winter U now running in Singapore! • Cisco Webex Connect online space currently being trialled • Arts Hub currently running online • IGGY Juniors to be launched imminently • New range of online videos and podcasts to launch shortly in partnership with the Digital Press • Discussions underway for future IGGY U international venues go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy Winter U • First overseas IGGY face-to-face programme • Held in partnership with NUS High School of Mathematics and Science • Around 100 students attending from over ten countries • 11 day programme including 8 days of teaching • 5 courses with representation from all Faculties • Team of Warwick academics and support staff flown out go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy Funding for IGGY Securing income and support for IGGY is critical: • University investment will be limited • IGGY must become self-sustainable sooner rather than later • membership fees will not apply for some time yet, so one source of eventual income does not yet exist • when fees are introduced they will need to be kept low – money from other sources will allow the community to grow and remain diverse • IGGY will develop organically and the rate of expansion will be determined by income go.warwick.ac.uk/iggy Funding Investment from partners can: • be used for bursaries for the socially or economically disadvantaged (cash or IT) • sponsor of online or face-to-face activities (e.g. projects, future IGGY U’s etc) • be targeted to specific regions, socio-economic groups or age ranges • get entry to our corporate club • provide pre-University scholarships Over to You Splitting into Groups • One potential source of funding / fund-raising idea we could explore • One idea for an IGGY-unique event • One indicator as to how we will know IGGY has been successful.
