R1 NORTHERN REGION SUPPLEMENT 1100-2001-1 EFFECTIVE DATE: 08/22/01 DURATION: Effective until superseded or removed 1100_zero_code Page 2 of 2 FSM 1100 – DIRECTIVES SYSTEM CHAPTER ZERO CODE 1104 – RESPONSIBILITY The overall responsibility for management of the directive system in Region 1 is assigned to the Information Systems Staff Director. 1104.22 - Regional Foresters, Station Directors, Area Director, and Forest Supervisors Forest Supervisors. Responsibilities shall be the same as listed at FSM 1104.4. An electronic copy of each Forest supplement will be sent to Information Systems (Directives). The electronic copy will be forwarded to the concerned Regional Office Staff Unit for functional review and coordination. 1104.31 - Staff Directors and Forest Staff Officers Staff Directors and Staff Officers are responsible for the following: 1. Assuring directives are written and coded to permit any necessary supplementation by Forests. 2. Designating a directive coordinator to assist in the unit's directive preparation and clearance. The coordinator should have enough knowledge of staff activities to provide the "complete staff review" on each directive before submission to the Staff Director for approval. 1104.4 - Directives Managers The Management Assistant in the Information Systems Staff is the designated Regional Directives Manager. Responsibilities in addition to those listed in the parent text include: 1. Training and assistance to Regional Office authors and staff unit directive coordinators. 2. Advice and counsel to Forest directives managers.
