9. Operate as the Planning Officer. Rapidly evaluate the situation and develop a plan to manage the
POD for the next shift period. Use ICS forms as necessary.
Ongoing Tasks
10. Receive Task Force Leaders and Command Staff as they report for duty
11. Stick to the ICS system to limit the span of control.
12. Routinely facilitate POD leadership meetings. Schedule a Task Force Leader and Unit Manager briefing at the
beginning and end of each shift. Schedule ad hoc leadership meetings as necessary to keep everyone well informed.
Continue to provide oversight and direction to team members
13. Participate in briefings scheduled with the HSCC and/or the EOC. Provide good communication to those in the
Command Centers.
14. Ensure team members complete tasks as per job action sheet and just in time training. Troubleshoot problems and
issues as they arise.
15. Ensure positive staff and volunteer morale.
16. Operate as the Financial Officer for the POD.
17. Receive internal incident information sheet from HSCC Planning Section Chief every 4 to 6 hours. Share with all
responders ASAP.
18. Serve as PIC liaison for the POD: coordinate with JIC, serve as POC for media or refer media to JIC, check with
Logistics that all public information materials are at POD.
