UNDER CONSTRUCTION
McDonald Pond
RESTORATION PROJECT
May 2012
Dear Resident:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services began
construction of the McDonald Pond Restoration Project in May.
The contractor, Blythe Development, is making steady progress
on the proposed pond improvements, including:
1. Temporarily draining the pond and relocating
approximately 1,000 fish.
2. Installing new outlet control structures and spillway.
3. Installing a new headwall on the existing culvert under
Lake Drive.
The completion of the dam rehabilitation is on schedule to meet
the September 2012 deadline.
If you have any construction questions, please contact Brad
Loveland.

The top two pollutants in Charlotte creeks are sediment and bacteria.
The best way to control erosion is to plant something. Nothing holds soil
in place better than plant roots.
Soil testing in North Carolina is free. Take the guesswork out of fertilizer
and lime purchases.
Charlotte receives more rain than Seattle.
Creeks start in Charlotte and flow downstream out of the County.
