UNDER CONSTRUCTION Betty Coleman WATER QUALITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT Dear Resident: June 2012 Construction is underway for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’ Betty Coleman Water Quality Enhancement Project. On-Site Development, LLC was awarded the construction contract and began work in February. Construction update: • Principal spillway and filter diaphragm has been completed. • The dam has been backfilled to its finish elevation. • Water is now flowing from the pond directly through the new pipe. • Construction has begun on the emergency spillway. Upon completion of the spillway, final grading and seeding will begin to establish ground cover. • Temporary erosion control measures will remain in place until ground cover is established. • The bottom drain valve will remain open until final acceptance is made. Upon acceptance, the valve will be closed and the pond will return to normal surface elevation.
