Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities provides public drinking water and wastewater services for 700,000 customers across Mecklenburg County. Recognizing that public education is part of our mission, we included plans for a water education center in the original design of the North Mecklenburg Water Treatment Plant, which opened in 1998. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities staff provided the vision and expertise. Gelbach Designs created the exhibit designs; Studio Displays molded those designs into a living series of displays. The result is a community resource that will benefit us all for years to come. Water World Tour Submerge yourself in a world devoted to water.
