RENTAL PRICES AND POLICIES
SPLASH PARK RENTAL :
Exclusive use of Splash Park
*Maximum Capacity in the pool is 400 patrons
CLASSROOM # 1, # 2, or AEROBIC STUDIO :

$356/hour (minimum 2 hours)
$67/hour (minimum 2 hours)
GYMNASIUM:
$77/hour (minimum 2 hours)

STAFF (after normal operating hours only):
Lifeguard:
$15/hour
*The number of required lifeguards depends on the number of expected patrons and number of attractions used. A ratio of 1 to 20 is
always maintained. If all attractions are used, a minimum of 6 lifeguards is required.
DEPOSIT
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at time of booking. Reservations are not confirmed until the
deposit is received and processed. The remaining balance is due on the day of your rental prior to
usage.
POLICIES
Ray’s Splash Planet is a facility of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department and as such
requires that all park policies and regulations are enforced. Violation of park rules will result in removal
from facility without refund. ALCOHOL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON THE PROPERTY.
SECURITY (needed after normal operating hours an/or large scale events)
A uniformed Mecklenburg County police or sheriff’s officer must be on the premises during rental hours
(contracted and paid for by the renter).
FOOD/CATERING (only applicable in the gymnasium)
All food served in the gymnasium must be provided by a licensed and inspected food service provider and a
copy of the business license and current inspection will need to be provided one week prior to the event.
The renter and said food service provider shall abide by the Mecklenburg County Department of
Environmental Health rules for provision of food for the public.
INSURANCE
A certificate of insurance totaling $1,000,000 (One million dollars) liability naming Mecklenburg County,
its officers, agents, and employees as co-insured must accompany the 50% deposit. The named insurance
company must be approved and licensed in the state of North Carolina.

FACILITY USE SWIM POLICIES
SWIMMERS:
*County Health Department requires that all swimmers wear swim suits.
Shorts and t-shirts are not appropriate swim wear.
LOBBY:
Please keep large groups of children organized and quiet when inside the lobby area
as we are trying to better serve all of our customers. Everyone must be dried off
completely and wearing shoes before entering the lobby area. Absolutely no wet
bodies and no bare feet. No outside food and drinks are allowed in the lobby area.
LOCKER ROOMS:
*All swimmers must be accompanied by an adult through the locker rooms.
*Children 6 yrs or older must use same gender locker room or family locker room.
*Men’s, Women’s and Family Locker Rooms are available. Groups must provide
male chaperones for Men’s Locker Room.
*Do not leave any personal items in any locker. Take all items out on pool deck so
that someone from your group can keep a close eye on them.
SHOWERS:
Please see that all swimmers rinse off in locker room showers prior to swimming.
SWIMMING:
*For children 5 years and under the adult to child ratio in the water is 1:2
(ie: 5 children in the water = 3 adults in the water.)
*For children 6 years and older the adult to child ratio in the water is 1:10
(ie: 11 children in the water = 2 adults in the water.)
*If it is lightening, the pools will close for 30 minutes from the last strike.
*The Splash Park will close for at least 30 minutes after cleaning in the event of vomit or
defecation in the water
*Food or drinks are not permitted in the Pool Area or Locker Rooms.
LIFEGUARDS: Lifeguards are on staff to respond to emergency situations, render first aid and
implement emergency lifesaving techniques if necessary. They are here to enforce
rules and keep your children safe. Please help them do their jobs by not distracting
them unnecessarily. Safety begins with the parent or adult chaperone. Please be
aware of your child or children at all times. Unsupervised children who pose safety
concerns may be asked to exit the water. Life vests are available upon request.

signing this form you are agreeing to abide by all the policies and procedures stated on the attached
sheet. Failure to abide by the facility rules and policies will forfeit your usage and/or agreement.
