• Founded in 2004 based on national and EU grants
(EGEE).
• Grown from 2 staff to 11 in 3 years.
• 103 courses, 62 in UK, 32 in Europe, 9 elsewhere
– China, Korea, Japan, Australia, Africa

• Training is helping a small project to have a big
impact through engagement with related projects
• The “Grid Islands” will be bridged, and training helps
researchers to explore and exploit the new
possibilities
• Training in OMII-Europe is a successful example of
cooperation between China and Europe
