curation
Some disciplines understand metadata - many do not
Biology vs high energy physics
Some disciplines understand the value of structured data - many
do not
Just use Google why anything else?
“libraries don’t hold data” !
More broadly, there is often no awareness of the information
management issues of federated distributed data.
Often no awareness of legal/ethical issues relating to data - or
have not yet managed to have structured response.
