OGF21 in Seattle, WA, USA, 15-19 October 2007 Amy Krause EPCC, The University of Edinburgh GridNet ID: 105 Working Groups ByteIO WG (2 sessions) Results of the OGSA-ByteIO Interoperability Fiesta commencing 20 July 2007. Create and compile an Experience Document for OGSA-ByteIO. This mandatory document will be the last publication of the OGSA-ByteIO WG advancing the ByteIO standard to an OGF Standards Recommendation. An example for higher level interoperation between Genesis II and OGSA-DAI services was discussed. This may be taken forward as an MSc project in EPCC. DAIS WG Update on progress and discussion on RDF(S) specifications. OGSA-DAI users group meeting This workshop considered the complete spectrum of data work across OGF, from the higher level vision being defined by the OGSA data architecture group; the data standards being produced such as DAIS and ByteIO; the technologies realising these standards such as OGSA-DAI and then to the end user developers trying to building applications with these technologies. Workshops Globus and Community (4 sessions) A high level overview as well several in-depth presentations for Globus tools. I presented an overview of OGSA-DAI 3.0. Closing panel for community questions. • Growing complexity of the Globus toolkit and how this is being addressed by the Globus Toolkit team. • Standards – are they important for the components? Which standards are being used? • How do Globus components work together? It would be useful to see projects that brought the Globus components together. This workshop was useful. GridNet2 workshop OMII-UK: Reducing the gap between researchers and resources Data Integration Solutions with OGSA-DAI The workshop presented the new features and capabilities of OGSA-DAI and provided an opportunity for discussion between users and developers. Others Attended the keynote by Steve Tuecke. Progress ByteIO interoperability testing Interoperability testing for ByteIO implementations commenced on 20th July 2007. Four implementations of the ByteIO interfaces participated in the tests. An experiences document was created during an OGF 21 session. It is expected to be concluded by OGF 22. Each implementation provides comments and experiences to the document.
