Numbers indicate the maximum number of students that can be accepted in light of the places available for Teaching Practice placements as indicated by the school authorities. 2. Entry into the B.Ed (Hons.) and P.G.C.E courses is based on qualifications. If the number of fully qualified applicants exceeds the number of students that can be accepted in particular teaching areas, applicants will be placed in rank order according to criteria approved by Senate. Interviews for selection of applicants will be held where there is a tie for any remaining place/s in a teaching area. 1 3. For the purpose of selection, applicants who are fully qualified by 31 August 2012 (including being in possession of the special entry requirements for the course, Proficiency Test/s, and ECDL Certificate or Logbook for the B.Ed.(Hons), and ECDL Certificate or Logbook for the P.G.C.E course) will be considered first and will be placed in rank order. These applicants should also submit a recent police conduct certificate (not more than 6 months old) to the Faculty Office, Room 231, Old Humanities Building by 31 August 2012. Those for whom places are available will be accepted and informed accordingly. 4.1 If vacant places are still available in the B.Ed. (Hons) and P.G.C.E. Courses, applicants who become fully qualified after the 31 August 2012 and before 30 September 2012 will be placed in rank order and accepted to take up any remaining places. Such applicants should submit a copy of their ECDL certificate or logbook and a recent police conduct certificate (not more than 6 months old) to the Faculty Office by not later than Friday 28th September 2012. 4.2 B.Ed. (Hons) applicants who are not in possession of a pass in ALL 7 ECDL modules and/or who do not pass the English proficiency test (and Maltese proficiency test for B.Ed. Primary applicants) by Friday 28th September 2012 will not be admitted to the course. Applicants shall be exempted from sitting for the proficiency tests if they are in possession of a SEC pass at grade 3 or higher, or an Intermediate Matriculation level pass at grade C or higher or an Advanced Matriculation level pass at Grade C or higher in English and/or Maltese. 4.3 P.G.C.E applicants who are not in possession of a pass in ALL 7 ECDL modules by Friday 28th September 2012 will not be admitted to the course. 5. In the case of English language, passes at Grade B or better in the GCE examination Ordinary Level will also be accepted. 6. The Business Education with specialisation in Accounting teaching area will not be offered since no places were made available by the school authorities.
