This is the first communication concerning this petition. We encourage staff and the Planning
Commission to consider Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department’s (MCPR) comments.
We suggest that these comments be incorporated into the staff review notes and written into the PreHearing Staff Analysis to the fullest extent possible. These steps should ensure MCPR’s notes are
conveyed to and incorporated by the petitioner during site plan revisions.
Parcel # 091-112-11, 091-112-10 and 091-112-09 are located on the Little Sugar Creek
Greenway/Cross Charlotte Trail Corridor as indicated on the 2014 Greenway Master Plan Update.
MCPR acknowledges the Technical Data Sheet dated 03/25/16 and supports the request of the
Charlotte Department of Transportation to meet the land requirements for their planned section of
greenway trail at this location. We also request the petitioner dedicate and convey the 100’ SWIM
Buffer to Mecklenburg County for future greenway use. The dedication and conveyance shall occur
prior to the issuance of the first Certificate of Occupancy.
