As the importance of information sharing have been firmly established for the success of collaborative practices, it is considered essential to study the multidimensional nature of collaboration and its impact on the performance of collaborative supply chain practices in Indian automobile manufacturing companies. The paper addresses the need of greater information sharing among collaborative partners in the automotive supply chain by reporting results of a survey examining the collaborative supply chain practices within the Indian automobile manufacturing companies. The study illustrates that information sharing improves operational performance and thus this paper will be beneficial to the logistics managers involved in collaborative practices in their respective supply chains.
