Course Description:
This course covers the techniques used by the trucking industry to diagnose and repair heavy
duty truck air brake systems. Instruction will cover theory, inspection, maintenance, and
repair of air brake systems.
Course Objectives:
1. Discuss, compare and contrast the different designs
and operation of the Air Brake Systems.

techniques used for inspection of the Air brake Systems
and its related components.

Upon completion of the course the student should be

1. Safely and responsibly perform Medium and Heavy Duty
truck repairs while minimizing negative impact on the
environment.
2. Disassemble, evaluate, repair and reassemble basic,
Medium and Heavy duty truck air brakes and their
related components.

proficiency, at least in part, by means of written expression that may include essays, or, in courses where the curriculum
committee deems them to be appropriate, by problem solving exercises or skills demonstrations by students.)
