Proceedings of 10th Asian Business Research Conference 6 - 7 October 2014, Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, Bangkok, Thailand, ISBN: 978-1-922069-62-7 Social Networks of Persons with Disability – Impact On Social Integration in the Organization Janhavi Kote Social net work s in an organization are k nown to impact the organization and its employees in many ways. Social integration in the organization is one such area. I argue that the homophilous net work s that persons with disabilities tend to form impact their integration with the organization as a whole. I further argue that three types of factors, namely (1) achieved characteristics of persons with disabilities, (2) organizational context characteristics and (3) personal characteristics of the persons with disabilities will have an impact on the formation of homophilous ties. A model that can be tested empirically is suggested.
