Our facility is provided by Dr. Prem Reddy, who we thank for his
generous donation and for supporting the health of our community.
We provide parenting classes in the community and on campus in
Spanish and English. Contact information is printed for each class
site. Please confirm class information before attending any training.
If you cannot reach the site of the training or the trainer, please
contact our office before the training is scheduled in order to confirm
the class. Classes are subject to change; please check our website for
updated information about classes, trainers, local foster parent
and kinship caregivers’ associations, and more at www.vvc.edu/fkce

Class description: The same class will be conducted twice in English by
Joseph Rodriguez, MSW who worked for children’s services for over 15
years. Common Sense Parenting can help parents with older children
discuss disagreeing appropriately, problem-solving skills, resisting peer
pressure, getting along with others, conversation skills, and accepting
criticism, and issues around cussing out a parent.

Descripcion de la clase: Las clases seran en epañol por Joseph Rodriquez,
MSW. Esta clase ha ayudado a miles de padres y madres a mejorar la
conducta de sus ninos de cualquier edad. Padres aprenderan como adaptar
los metodos de crianza segun la edad y grado de desarrollo de su hijo.
Tambien se tratan temas de interes para los padres de niños mayorcitos: la
influencia de los amigos, los efectos de los medios de comunicacion, y el
exito escolar. La buena crianza exige metodos practicos y trato amoroso.
La Crianza Practica de los hijos le ayudara a usted a mejorar en ambos
aspectos.

Marcelino “Chico” Garza
El señor Marcelino Garza tiene más de 20 años de experiencia en negocios y ha trabajado con las escuelas por todo el
estado de California por más de 25 años. Ha colaborado con familias y con jóvenes en riesgo; ha sido ejemplo a más
de 130 niños. Su vida personal también es rica en experiencia ya que es padre y abuelo de cinco hijos y cinco nietos.
En la actualidad se desempeña como asistente especial del superintendente de las escuelas del condado de San Bernardino para crear asociaciones entre el sector comercial, las familias, escuelas y los estudiantes. A través de dichas
asociaciones de colaboración, el señor Garza prepara a los estudiantes para que alcancen sus sueños personales, logren los estándares académicos y contribuyan con calidad al sector laboral.
El señor Garza ha sido tema de interés de los medios de comunicación de los condados de Los Ángeles, San Bernardino y Riverside. Ha recibido numerosos premios por su
trabajo e involucro comunitario a nivel individual y comercial. El señor Garza usa sus experiencias y enseñanza
propia de la vida diaria para educar, presentar discursos
en las ceremonias de graduación a nivel preparatoria, en
las ceremonias de reconocimiento y en seminarios comerciales por todo el estado de California.
