Ha colaborado con familias y con jóvenes en riesgo; ha sido ejemplo a más de 130 niños. Su vida personal también es rica en experiencia ya que es padre y abuelo de cinco hijos y cinco nietos. En la actualidad se desempeña como asistente especial del superintendente de las escuelas del condado de San Bernardino para crear asociaciones entre el sector comercial, las familias, escuelas y los estudiantes. A través de dichas asociaciones de colaboración, el señor Garza prepara a los estudiantes para que alcancen sus sueños personales, logren los estándares académicos y contribuyan con calidad al sector laboral. El señor Garza ha sido tema de interés de los medios de comunicación de los condados de Los Ángeles, San Bernardino y Riverside.
