With CPI at 2.7% the District will not exceed the 105 percent of prior year’s extension; however, with the total estimated EAV and new construction not yet known, combined with the ballooning of the levy, we may exceed the 105%. As discussed at the December 2, 2010 Finance Committee meeting, Administration is moving forward with a levy hearing to be held on December 16, 2010. New construction, which approximates $11.6M, is a significant decrease from prior year’s approximate $29.6M. As a result of declining assessed values, the Operating Funds Capped Tax Rate is expected to increase to approximate $3.70, up from last year’s 3.39. The Total Tax Rate, including the Bond & Interest Fund is expected to approximate $4.48, up from last years $4.12, the result of decreasing assessed values.
