SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS CLT Pilot Project 2012 2012 CLT Pilot Project Overview During the summer of 2012, Dave Dalton, chairman of the Charlotte Regional Partnership’s New Energy Capital Technology Development Advisory Board, approached Jerry Orr, CLT’s Aviation Director, about the potential of utilizing CLT’s high profile facilities to showcase new energy technologies developed, manufactured and represented by the local region. CLT’s Aviation Director agreed to proceed with establishing a public/private partnership and create a 2012 Pilot Project to showcase the region’s energy potential through integrating the newest energy efficiency lighting technologies as well as aid CLT in contributing to its sustainability goals. A steering committee comprised of public and private sector representatives was formed to head the project.
