Basic Tournament Instructions:
1st ... Check Update your phone number & email address, if incorrect, with the IM OFFICE and
your Contact then your FIRST OPPONENT. All email addresses end in "@psu.edu", unless
otherwise specified.

Courts
Contact and Play each opponent EARLY. Find a day & time that you both can play and set a
location. You have approx. one week to play each match. Rain can severely affect our
tournament at times - schedule and play your matches as early as possible. Match results are
due on the date listed for each round.
You can play on any courts on campus (Natatorium or IM courts) or in the surrounding State
College area. PSU Tennis Club (call 865-1381) indoor courts ($ for a fee) are available on
campus. The Sarni tennis center usually has evening hours for outdoor lighted courts (call 8651381).
Play the
match
Matches are self officiated. Disagreements must be mutually decided or elect a replay. REPORT
an opponent who is not playing in a fair and civil manner - this tournament should be fun, social
and yet competitive - you are the only contact we have to find out and to act on your behalf.
Verify your opponent prior to playing with PSU ID+ card.
Report
Results
Report your result ON or BEFORE your MATCH DUE DATE. Include your Name, Division,
Flight # and the score of the match. Results and any phone number or email updates are posted
ONLINE daily as needed at www.athletics.psu.edu/RecSports

IM OFFICE ASAP for assistance - don't wait until your deadline !!
Contact the
Forfeits will be recorded at 4:30pm on MATCH DEADLINE day. If we have not heard from
EITHER opponent it will be recorded as a DOUBLE FORFEIT.
Rain ?
Do not delay in playing your matches - IF IT HASN'T RAINED - we expect you to play your
match on time. If a particular play week has a SIGNIFICANT amount of rain, a 1 day extension
MAY be granted. Call the IM Office for questions. DO NOT RELY ON EXTENSIONS to bail you
out for not playing your matches on time - if we must forfeit you to keep the tournament moving we will - to be fair to those that are playing on time.
