Thursday - February 25
&
Tuesdays March 8, 15, 22 & 29
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
The purpose of this educational effort is to
provide an introduction to succession planning
and provide family teams with the knowledge,
tools, and skills to successfully finalize a
Farm/Ranch succession plan for their operation.
The first meeting will be held on Thursday,
February 25. It will be an overview of
succession planning and an introduction to the
steps needed to complete a plan. This meeting
will be open to anyone with unlimited
participation.
The 4 in-depth meetings in the series will follow
on Tuesday evenings of March 8, 15, 22, and
29. The teams that complete the series will be
given the instruction to successfully finalize and
complete their plan.
The topics of these meetings will include:
•
•
•
•
Communications and Building the Team
Financial Considerations and Resources
Visioning and Goal Setting for a
Successful Plan
Legal Considerations and Arrangements
for a Successful Succession.
All meetings will start at 6:30 p.m., end around
8:30 p.m. and will include materials, food and
drinks.
There Are 2 Options for Participation.
Option 1: Attend only the Introduction to
Farm/Ranch Succession meeting (Feb. 25) at a
cost of $10/person. There are no limits or
qualifications for attendance.
Option 2: Enroll as a team in the entire series.
The minimum number of people on a team is 2
and there must be at least 1 representative from
the current generation that is owner/operator
and at least 1 representative from the next
generation that will be owner/operator. While
there is no limit to the number of people on a
team, more than 8 could become cumbersome.
Because of the in-depth presentations and
participant involvement, the 5 meeting series will
be limited to the first 10 teams who register with
payment.
The entire series of 5 meetings - $100 for the first
2 members of the team and $30 for each
additional member of the team.
Costs for the succession meeting and/or
series covers materials, food and drinks.
