David Schrimmer, M.D. Philosophy of Care My approach to patient care is that of a true partnership with you. I have the honor of acting as your guide through a process that is potentially frightening to you, but very familiar to me. I respect your input, desires and wishes, and help to support them in a way that is protective to both you and your unborn child (or children!). We share the mutual goal of a healthy outcome for all. While I am trained in the most sophisticated techniques, my hope for you is that I do as little as possible. A gentle nudge back to health is often better than the most complex procedure. Collectively, we try to do as little as possible, while never losing sight of our mutual goal of health. And, if things happen along the way, you can rest more easily knowing that you will be informed of every development, and will have the ultimate say in the path we take. Research/Academic Interests I have a special interest in multiple gestation pregnancies, having created and directed a multiple gestation program for more than 10 years. In addition, I am very interested in fetal therapy, including laser therapy for monochorionic twins which is part of our program here at UC Davis. Finally, I have a passion for teaching and advancing the science of medicine through research, which is why I practice here, at UC Davis.
