Philosophy of Care
I will treat every patient in the same way that I would like my family member be taken care of, and
I will strive to make sure that no one suffers for lack of knowledge, effort, or compassion on my
part.
Clinical Interests
Treating biliary and pancreatic diseases, treating everyday gastrointestinal problems such as
heartburn and constipation, screening for and preventing colon cancer.
Research/Academic Interests
Studying disease characteristics of colon cancer among racial and ethnic minorities, especially
among Asian Indians.
Exploring newer methods of colonoscopy such as water colonoscopy and CO2- assisted
colonoscopy.
Mentoring Gastroenterology Fellows in their clinical, academic, and research endeavors.
- Quality improvement initiatives aimed at increasing colon polyp detection, while increasing
patient satisfaction and comfort with screening colonoscopy.
