Aaron D. Carr, M.D. Philosophy of Care Dr. Carr's philosophy is to care for the person, not just the disease process or problem. To that end he is committed to serving his patients needs, as much as possible, to achieve not just maximum physical, but emotional and spiritual health as well. He strives for a compassionate family-oriented approach, because illness does not just affect an organ or an individual, but all aspects of our life and relationships. In addition, knowledge is not static, but a dynamic process that necessitates life long learning and a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Dr. Carr will utilize all the resources of the UC Davis Health System to achieve the best outcome for his patients. Clinical Interests Dr. Carr is a fellowship trained minimally invasive, robotic and bariatric surgeon who specializes in bringing the latest surgical techniques to the treatment of common diseases like reflux, obesity, and gastrointestinal pathology. His research areas of interest are in technology integration, surgical education and uncovering the mechanisms that lead to chronic conditions like obesity.
