CV: Peter Macaulay mailto:peter.macaulay@ZDSL.com Peter Macaulay is an independent consultant with 18 years experience in designing, implementing and supporting converged data, voice and video networks. He is a featured presenter at many international conferences on the implementation of emerging technologies. Peter is a member of the DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Forum and is active within the technical committee on Voice Over IP (VoIP) and Quality of Service (QoS) for combined data, voice and video networks using ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2plus, ADSL2++, VDSL and SHDSL access technologies. Peter participates in the University of New Hampshire ADSL2+ Interoperability Plug Fest events. Peter has presented a one-day "DSL Technology Update" at the past 16 meetings of the DSL Forum. Recent work has focused on multi-service platforms to implement Full Service Access Networks (FSAN) using Broadband Passive Optical Networks (BPON) to create Fiber to the Premises (FTTP), Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks. He is a member of BICSI with a focus on high speed wiring with fiber and copper. Peter participates in the IEEE 802.3 study groups for powered Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) and high speed Ethernet. Peter is an active member of the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) with working group participation with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and secure SIP to implement next generation hosted voice services using VoIP phone sets, voice gateways, Integrated Access Devices (IAD). Peter participates in SIP Interoperability Test (SIP-IT) events. Peter Macaulay publishes a monthly update on emerging data communication standards.
