He played a central role in the negotiations which led to the creation of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and is currently the Secretary of the 3GPP Project Coordination Group which is responsible for overall work programme management. He is also Head of the ETSI Mobile Competence Centre (MCC) which is an International team of 27 experts who provide comprehensive support to the Project. In addition, he is responsible for the Fixed Competence Centre (FCC) and Radio Competence Centre (RCC), and is thus responsible for all standards production issues within ETSI. He has more than 20 years experience in the telecommunications field, which in includes 17 years of experience in standardization.
