Policies and Procedures for the Peer Tutor program Peer tutoring is available for Associate Degree and Technical Diploma courses only. 1. Each student tutored is expected to attend class. 2. Every effort will be made to locate a qualified tutor, however a match is not guaranteed. 3. Please follow-up with the Academic Support Center Specialist and your instructor until a tutor match is made or if you have not been contacted after three business days. 4. Agree to meet with tutor at the hours, dates, and places assigned, and be on time for tutoring sessions. 5. Tardiness is highly discouraged. Tutors will wait 15 minutes and then leave. 6. Two tutor session absences (unexcused) are sufficient cause for termination of services. 7. Agree to keep track of tutor’s name and phone number and call in case an emergency, or if the need for cancellation arises. 8. Come prepared for each tutoring session by completing all textbook readings and class handouts. 9. Do not ask the tutor to do your assignments or homework for you! Tutors are to assist you in understanding class concepts. Please start your homework prior to your tutor session. If not able to complete, it is your responsibility to have assignment questions ready for discussion. 10. Requests must be made prior to week eleven or 65% of class time. 11. Notify the Academic Support Center Specialist if tutoring is no longer needed, or if the arrangement needs to be changed. If there are concerns that need to be addressed, please inform your instructor or Amanda Sukowaty as soon as possible so the Peer Tutor Program can remain successful for you.
