Dear Criminal Justice Student,
The Wisconsin Department of Justice requires students wanting to enter the
Wisconsin Technical College Law Enforcement Academies to provide proof of
citizenship and proof that they hold a valid driver’s license.
Students starting the Criminal Justice program are required to provide a certified
copy of their birth certificate and a valid driver’s license. Any naturalized citizen is
required to provide a copy of their citizenship certificate. Please bring your
documents to Student Central located on the first floor of the Lakeshore Building.
We will document the validity of your information and return original
documentation to the student.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND PHOTOCOPIES THROUGH THE MAIL. A
certified birth certificate can be accepted through the mail if mailed by the register
of deeds office from which you obtained it and will then be mailed back to the
student.
Birth certificates in the state of Wisconsin can be obtained through the register of
deeds office in your county of birth. A fee will be required to obtain this document.
