PG Diploma in Science, Technology and Society
Students must complete 120 credits made up of the following:

Optional modules
Students must take at least 3 modules (45 credits) from the HPS option catalogue
Elective modules
Up to 30 credits can be taken from STS modules or modules from other departments.

These choices must be approved by the STS MSc Programme Tutor. Also, the offering
department may require approval.
Ideally, 15 credits will come from additional HPSCGA modules. All credits may come
from HPSCGA modules.
Diploma Requirements:
By the end of the degree, students must have completed no fewer than 45 credits among the
modules HPSCGA40 – HPSCGA59.
PG Certificate in Science, Technology and Society
Students must complete 60 credits made up of the following:

Introduction to Science and Technology Studies
Optional modules
Students chose options from the HPSCGA catalogue. At least 2 modules (30 credits) must be

Certificate Requirements:
