Students must complete 180 credits made of up the following:

Note: Not every HPS module is taught every year, and these titles are subject to
change.
Some substitutions between HPS and STS options will be considered, subject to
approval by the MSc Tutor
Elective modules (total of 30 credits)
Up to 30 credits can be taken from STS modules or modules from other
departments.

the offering department may require approval.
Ideally, 15 credits will come from additional HPSCGA modules. All credits
may come from HPSCGA modules.

PG Diploma in History and Philosophy of Science

Students must take at least 3 modules (45 credits) from the HPS option catalogue

Up to 30 credits can be taken from STS modules or modules from other
departments.

Diploma Requirements:
By the end of the degree, students must have completed no fewer than 45 credits
among the modules HPSCGA20 – HPSCGA39
PG Certificate in History and Philosophy of Science
Students must complete 60 credits made up of the following:
Compulsory module (15 credits)
HPSCGA01
Introduction to Science and Technology Studies
Optional modules (45 credits)
Students chose options from the HPSCGA catalogue. At least 2 modules (30
credits) must be from the HPS modules
Certificate Requirements:
Students must complete 30 credits among the modules HPSCGA20 –
HPSCGA39.
