CHINESE-AUSTRIAN-EU SUMMER SCHOOL 2016 July 15 - August 13, 2016 Austria France Germany Czech Republic Italy Strasbourg Since 2002, the Chinese Studies Center at the University of Salzburg in cooperation with Eurasia-Pacific Uninet has annually organized the Chinese-Austrian-EU Summer School for students from Chinese member institutions and European Universities. The 15th Chinese-Austrian-EU Summer School will primarily take place in Salzburg, Vienna, Heidelberg, Reims, Bologna and Strasbourg from July 15 to August 13, 2016. In Strasbourg, the lectures are given by experts about the European Union and the European Parliament. Furthermore, the students will be taking courses at the University of Salzburg, the University of Vienna, Heidelberg University, Reims University and the Bologna University, aiming at broadening the students’ view of the European as well as the Austrian culture and customs. Participants get information about occidental philosophy, Austrian history, literature, politics and law, economy and music. The Chinese-Austrian-EU Summer School Program 2016 is rounded off by visits to the United Nations, the Vienna Music Society, to the Castle Schoenbrunn, to the Czech Republic (Prague), to Venice (Italy), Florence (Italy) and the Fortress Hellbrunn. In addition, there is the option of going to Paris (France), Versailles (France), Castle Neuschwanstein (Germany; original Disney Castle) and to Hallstatt (not included in program fees). Requirements and participants The Chinese-Austrian-EU Summer School is directed towards students who want to deepen their knowledge about Europe in general and Austria in particular. Since all the lectures are held in English, having a good command of written and spoken English is a basic prerequisite for participation. Application Deadline is April 15, 2016! Costs The costs for the summer school approximately amount to 2,800 EUR. This includes accommodation (double rooms/all including breakfast), program fees, insurance, transportation as well as the costs for the sightseeing trips (flights are not included).
