Clancy accepted as fellow in national executive leadership program June 5, 2015 Colleen Clancy, professor in the Department of Pharmacology, has been accepted as a fellow into the 2015­16 Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM) Program for Women at Drexel University. ELAM® is a year­long, part­time fellowship for women faculty in schools of medicine, dentistry and public health. The program is dedicated to developing the professional and personal skills required to lead and manage in today’s complex health care environment, with special attention to the unique challenges facing women in leadership positions. Colleen Clancy The ELAM program strives to help its fellows: Develop a broader vision of their role within their academic health centers Enhance their leadership effectiveness, understanding of strategic finance and ability to lead organizational change Become part of an active resource network of women leaders ELAM is part of the International Center for Executive Leadership in Academics, a core program of the Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia. Clancy’s research interests include computational approaches to reveal mechanisms of excitability in the heart and brain. Her laboratory aims to develop and implement computational approaches to understanding electrically based syndromes, such as arrhythmia and epilepsy, disorders that result in the disruption of normal electrical behavior.
