Contrast and compare the peace plans and the concept of European union proposed by the Abbé de Saint-Pierre, William Penn and John Bellers.
2.
Discuss the main proposals advanced in the contemporary debate on the future of
European integration under the broad heading of ‘more Europe’ and show the extent to which this approach could help the EU solve its current problems.
3.
Assess and contrast the manner in which functionalism, neo-functionalism and inter-governmentalism, including Liberal Inter-governmentalism, explain the process of European integration making sure that the main points of difference between these approaches are thoroughly brought out.
4.
To what extent does the EU compare to a federation, or is it more correct to refer to it as a ‘multi-level polity’ or both?
