RUMAH PERADABAN FOUNDATION (Jakarta, Indonesia) 1 Culture Internship Program About Culture Internship Program Rumah Peradaban offers young people/students the opportunity to participate in the Culture Internship Program, experience leadership and partake in a global learning environment, thus create the international platform for every young member of the world to develop their potential. This program is basically aimed to young people/students who want to improve their skills, experience cultural differences, travel, meet many people from abroad, share experiences and be instrumental in social programs. The Head Office is located in Jakarta. This organization is aimed to develop poor areas in Indonesia, raise the prosperity, and provide a better life for the poor by helping them in need. Rumah Peradaban is fully dependent on the support from donators and sponsors. Rumah Peradaban runs a lot of different projects in the area of HEALTH, EDUCATION, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT and ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT. Intern should prepare for teaching Basic English to unfortunate children and helping them to improve their English skills and also interact through several activities. Intern will join an educational program called Taman Belajar. This program takes place in Taman Mini (TMII), East Jakarta. Taman Belajar Program started in 2012 and it has a capacity of 100 children (elementary school and junior high school). Teachers for Taman Belajar are usually volunteers or foreign students (interns). This program is held every Tuesday and Friday from 4pm to 6 pm. Intern is supposed to make a presentation about Intern's country and culture and present it for Rumah Peradaban's staff, representatives and stakeholders. 3. Intern will conduct a session to present Intern's national culture for children through interactive presentation/videos (wearing traditional clothes, showing traditional dance, cooking, singing national songs etc.). 4. Intern will actively join programs arranged by Rumah Peradaban such as Eye Clinic Goes to School or Taman Belajar Program. 5. Intern will practice communication skills, project management, event organizing and presentation skills. 6. Intern should make a report (both photograph and article) about the internship in Rumah Peradaban or prepare an article about cross-cultural understanding. 7. Intern could be asked to help with administrative work at an office. 8. Intern will also travel around Jakarta region and learn about Indonesian culture and traditions – culture knowledge sharing.
