Pilot PCORI award: Antipsychotic prescription decision making and use in a diverse cohort of
dementia patients. UCD Center for Healthcare Research and Policy. Xiong GL (PI); 7/20146/2015. Direct $50,000. This is a mixed methods study to examine use of antipsychotics in
patients with dementia to understand racial/ethnic differential use patterns in while, African
American, and Latino patients in the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center database
(using cross-section data analysis) and in the Greater Sacramento Area (using qualitative
family caregiver interviews.
