Fatih M ehmet Yurdal
Mr. Fatih Mehmet Yurdal is the director of Bolt& Yurdal Consulting ApS in Denmark.
He is also the chairman of the WG1 of ITU-R WP 1B, responsible for the Short Range
Devices. He graduated as BSc in Physics Engineering from Hacettepe University in
Turkey and obtained MSc degree in Satellitte Communications Engineering from the
University of Surrey in the UK. He worked several years in various posts for the
National Radiocommunications Regulatory Agency of Turkey ending up with the post
of Deputy Director General responsible for international regulatory matters.
In 1999, Mr. Yurdal was appointed as the CEO and Director General of Turk Telekom, the incumbent
Telecom operator of Turkey. A year later he was appointed as the President of the newly established
independent Turkish Telecommunication Regulatory Authority. During this post, he chaired the ITU World
Radiocommunication (WRC-2000) and World Telecommunication Development Conferences (WTDC2002). After three years in this post, Mr. Yurdal was elected to one of the expert posts at the European
Radiocommunications Office in Denmark at which he served as frequency management expert for 8 years.
