The following is not an exhaustive list, but identifies providers who have volunteered to be listed as eager to provide services to UCDHS medical students,
residents, and faulty. Please identify yourself as a UCDHS medical student, resident, or faculty member when inquiring about appointments.
Therapy Services:
Medical Students Please Note: UC Davis School of Medicine offers access to counseling services for medical students at the Sacramento Health Center
Campus. They offer free, confidential care in two ways: Through services provided by the UCD Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS), and through the
UCDSOM Counseling Services/Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP). In addition to the scheduled services on the medical campus, SHCS provides
drop-in Urgent Care services at the main campus. The SOM Counseling Services office is located in Suite 1400 of the Facilities Support Services Building (FSSB)

at 4800 2 Ave. Some evening appointments are available. To make an appointment at the medical campus, please email medschoolcounseling@ucdavis.edu. A
professional staff member from each service (SHCS and UCDSOM Counseling Services/ASAP) will receive that initial email, and you will be assigned to a
counselor based on availability and your stated needs, and the counselor will get back to you within one business day. If you prefer not to email, you can call 530752-0871 during normal business hours, tell the SHCS Receptionist you are a medical student seeking services, and s/he will take a message for you and have
the SHCS counselor call you back within two business days. If you need more immediate assistance, please call (530) 752-2349 at the main campus and identify
yourself as a medical student. Same-day appointments are sometimes available, but walk-in services are currently not available at the FSSB office.
SHCS Urgent Care and Crisis Response: Drop-in urgent care services are available daily for urgent matters during normal business hours of operation
at the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHWC) at 930 Orchard Road on the Davis campus (off La Rue Rd.) Call ahead at (530) 752-2349 to help
them best assist you. SHWC Davis Campus Normal Hours of Operation (including Urgent Care): M, T, Th, F from 8:00am to 5:30pm; Wed. 9:00am to
5:30pm
24/7 Phone Lines: If you have an emergency after normal hours of operation, you can call the SHCS Appointment Desk/Advice Nurse at (530) 752-2349
and follow the prompts to connect you to a mental health professional. You can call anonymously or give your name. If you leave your name and state
you are a medical student wanting a call back, a staff member from SHCS will call you back the next business day. Additionally, walk-in appointments for
urgent counseling needs are available in Davis at the main campus, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Currently walk-in services are not available in
Sacramento, but same-day appointments are available sometimes, please call ahead for availability.
Residents Please Note: As a resident you have free, confidential, therapy services through the Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP). In addition to
ASAP services, you also have the option of meeting with Dr. Margaret Rea, who specializes in working with the residents and fellows. To make an appointment
